Journaling with the Full Moon: 5 Prompts for Release

The Full Moon is a time of peak illumination. The cycle has reached its zenith, and the moonlight reveals what has been hidden in shadow. It is a powerful moment to pause, take inventory, and consciously release what is no longer serving you.

This practice is not about magic; it is about mindfulness. By aligning your inner work with the cycles of nature, you give yourself a dedicated moment to process and let go.

Find a quiet moment. Light a candle. Settle in with your journal and reflect on these five questions.

1. What has come to light?

Since the New Moon, what has become clear to you? What truths, feelings, or situations have been illuminated?

2. What am I celebrating?

The Full Moon is a time of fullness. What have you accomplished? What are you grateful for in this moment, big or small?

3. What am I ready to release?

This is the heart of the work. Name the pattern, the habit, the fear, or the resentment. What are you willing to let go of to make space for something new?

4. How can I release this with gratitude?

Even difficult patterns teach us. How has this habit or feeling served you in the past? Can you thank it for the lesson before you let it go?

5. What energy do I want to carry forward?

As the moon begins to wane, what single intention, feeling, or state of being do you wish to cultivate in the coming cycle?

Be gentle with yourself. The work is not to force an answer, but simply to create the space for one to arise.
