Druidic & Celtic Threads
Much of what survives is medieval literature and later folklore, not manuals of ancient ritual. Read with care, and distinguish archaeology and philology from modern reconstruction.
Primary & Text Collections
- CELT: Corpus of Electronic Texts (UCC) — hosts many Irish texts and translations.
- Sacred Texts: Celtic — older translations; useful for access, but verify against newer editions.
- The Mabinogion (Guest, public domain) — a classic Welsh collection; compare with modern translations.
Responsible Reading
- Check publication dates; nineteenth‑century translations can reflect romanticized views.
- Archaeology and linguistics inform context, but do not reconstruct full rites.
- Modern druid groups publish practice materials; treat these as contemporary spirituality, not ancient transcripts.
